Pre-filled rates are from eBay selling fees (US), checked on 27 October 2026. Fees vary by category, country, plan and over time, so enter your own rates if they differ. Results are estimates. Fixed per-order fees and the tier limit are in US dollars, so switch the currency to USD for eBay.com. Base the expected price on recent sold listings, not asking prices.

How to use the eBay Reseller Calculator

  1. Look up recent sold prices for the item and enter a realistic sale price.
  2. Enter postage and packaging costs.
  3. Choose a profit amount or ROI target and press Calculate.

Formula

Net = sale price + shipping − eBay fees − postage − packaging

Max buy price = net − target profit, or net ÷ (1 + target ROI)

Examples

  • Sells for 40, postage 7, packaging 1, default rates, target 10 profit: fees 5.84, max buy price ≈ 16.16.
  • Same item, 100% ROI target: max buy price ≈ 13.08.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the default rates come from?

From eBay’s official selling fees pages for eBay.com, for most categories with no store subscription, checked on 27 October 2026. Some categories (for example certain clothing, collectibles, jewellery or business equipment) and store subscribers pay different rates, so change the fields to match your case.

Profit or ROI target: which is better?

A fixed profit target suits higher-priced items; an ROI target keeps cheap items worth your time and protects your cash on more expensive ones.
