Step-by-step working
  1. Net profit = $7,200.00 − $5,000.00 = $2,200.00
  2. ROI = $2,200.00 ÷ $5,000.00 × 100 = 44%
  3. Annualised = (1.44)^(12 ÷ 6) − 1 = 107.36%

How to use the ROI Calculator

  1. Enter the total cost of the investment.
  2. Enter the total amount it returned.
  3. Optionally add how many months it took, then press Calculate.

Formula

ROI = (amount returned − cost) ÷ cost × 100

Annualised ROI = (returned ÷ cost)12 ÷ months − 1

Examples

  • 5,000 in, 7,200 back: ROI = 44%. Over 6 months that is about 107% annualised.
