How to use the Amazon Seller Fee Calculator

  1. Enter the item price and any shipping you charge.
  2. Choose your selling plan and set the referral rate for your category.
  3. Tick “Media item” for books, music, video or games.
  4. Add your fulfilment cost and product cost, then press Calculate.

Formula

Referral fee = (price + shipping charged) × referral rate

Amazon fees = referral fee + per-item fee (Individual plan) + closing fee (media)

Profit = price + shipping − Amazon fees − fulfilment − product cost

Examples

  • 29.99 item, Professional plan, 15% referral, 3.50 fulfilment, 9 product cost: referral 4.50, profit ≈ 12.99.
  • Same item on the Individual plan adds 0.99 per item, so profit ≈ 12.00.

Frequently asked questions

Individual or Professional plan?

The Individual plan charges a fee for each item sold; the Professional plan charges a monthly subscription instead. Amazon’s pricing page suggests Professional once you sell more than a few dozen items a month.

Does this include FBA fees?

Enter your FBA fulfilment fee from Amazon’s current fee table in the fulfilment field. Storage fees are not included.
