Pre-filled rates are from Etsy Fees & Payments Policy, checked on 27 October 2026. Fees vary by category, country, plan and over time, so enter your own rates if they differ. Results are estimates. Payment processing rates depend on the country of your bank account. Fixed fees and the Offsite Ads cap are in US dollars.

How to use the Etsy Seller Fee Calculator

  1. Enter the item price, shipping and any gift wrap charge.
  2. Check the Etsy fee rates (pre-filled for US shops).
  3. If the order came from an Offsite Ad, choose the rate that applies to your shop.
  4. Add your item and postage costs and press Calculate.

Formula

Transaction fee = (price + shipping + gift wrap) × 6.5%

Payment processing = (sale total + sales tax) × rate + fixed fee

Offsite Ads = sale total × rate, capped per order

Profit = sale total − listing fee − transaction fee − processing − Offsite Ads − your costs

Examples

  • 25 item + 5 shipping, US rates, no Offsite Ad, cost 8, postage 5: fees 0.20 + 1.95 + 1.15 = 3.30, profit ≈ 13.70.

Frequently asked questions

Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?

Yes. Etsy’s transaction fee applies to the displayed price plus shipping and gift wrapping, so higher shipping charges raise the fee.

Why is the listing fee charged even if an item sells once?

Etsy charges the listing fee when a listing is created or renewed. Multi-quantity listings renew automatically after each sale, which adds another listing fee.
