How to use the Time Zone Calculator
- Choose the date and time as it is in the first city.
- Choose the two time zones.
- Press Convert.
Formula
Target time = source local time − source UTC offset + target UTC offset. Offsets come from the IANA time zone database for the exact date, so daylight saving changes are included.
Examples
- 9:30 am in India (UTC+05:30) on a November weekday is 11:00 pm the previous day in New York (UTC−05:00).
Frequently asked questions
Why does the difference change during the year?
Countries that observe daylight saving move their clocks forward in summer, so the gap to countries that don’t (such as India) changes by an hour.
