Formula

Divide every part by the greatest common divisor (GCD) of all the parts. For decimals, first multiply every part by the same power of 10 to make them whole numbers.

Examples

  • 24 : 36 : 60 → GCD 12 → 2 : 3 : 5.
  • 1.5 : 2.5 → 15 : 25 → 3 : 5.

Frequently asked questions

What does the share of total mean?

It splits 100% by the ratio. 2 : 3 : 5 means 20%, 30% and 50% of the whole.
